 Although shopping is not classified as a sport, one could envisage it being so with doing battle with the crowds in the Sales, jostling for car park spaces or even missing out on that elusive bargain.
Why trail around the shops in miserable weather when you can sun yourself on the white sandy beaches in the morning and then shop until the late hours in Dubai?
Shopping is one of Dubai’s many attractions and the city draws shopping tourists from across the globe – all-anxious to take advantage of the tax-free goods available from many top brand name products.
Shopping Malls are getting bigger (the latest being Mall of the Emirates – one of the largest in the world) and each mall seems to out do the others in size, design and outlets.
The latest project will see the Dubai Mall within the Burj Dubai complex being a ‘Mega Mall’ and to open in the near future.
Of course, there’s the traditional souk districts and markets where bargaining is a daily acceptance and there’s the award winning Dubai Duty Free at the airport.
Remember to visit the Duty Free Store on the journey in to Dubai as you can access it before the luggage carrousel.
